ABOUT THE FOUNDER
"Whether I am walking through the fields, running my hands over the blooms, hearing the bees busy at work, or inhaling the sweet fragrance, I am in absolute awe of the beauty I see before me. I am both humbled and inspired by the power of this herbaceous plant."
Meet Alicia Wolff, the owner of Keys Creek Lavender since 2008. The South African turned Laguna Beacher parlayed her love of nature into a mission of bringing healing, sustainability, and community together through the power of the purple plant. ABOUT LAVENDER
Why is lavender so popular?
The flowers of lavender are fragrant in nature and have been used for making potpourri and cosmetics for centuries. Traditionally, lavender essential oil has also been used in making perfumes. The oil is very useful in aromatherapy, perfumes and beauty products.

What does lavender symbolize?
Lavender flowers represent purity, silence, devotion, serenity, grace, and calmness. Purple is the color of royalty and speaks of elegance, refinement, and luxury, too. The color is also associated with the crown chakra, which is the energy center associated with higher purpose and spiritual connectivity.
How did lavender flower get its name?
Lavender derives its name from Latin 'lavare' meaning 'to wash”. The Romans used Lavender to scent their baths, beds, clothes and even hair. They also discovered its medicinal properties and soldiers carried it in their first aid kits.
Why does lavender help you sleep?
Basically, lavender works by calming the central nervous system and promoting slow-wave sleep, helping you sleep longer and better. So while lavender oil might seem like something that just smells nice, it is pretty powerful, and well researched when it comes to helping you sleep better.

Why does lavender relax?
Lavender has been shown to affect the parasympathetic nervous system. The parasympathetic nervous system controls bodily processes associated with anxiety, such as heart rate, breathing rhythm, and hormone secretion. Lavender can help in regulating these bodily processes by restoring a neutral state.

Where do you rub lavender oil for sleep?
When used before bed, studies have shown that lavender oil can not only help you fall asleep but also improve the overall quality of rest. Begin diffusing lavender oil an hour or so before turning in for the night. You can also rub one or two drops on your pillow, or apply directly to your feet, temples, and wrists.
